The British Horse Society (BHS) is the UK's largest and most influential equestrian charity. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, horse owners, enthusiasts and professionals.

 

The BHS is entering an exciting period of technology transformation across the entire business. As a result, we are looking for an enthusiastic website specialist to support this process, working on and managing our Umbraco website (hosted in MS Azure) and developing access for mobile devices.

 

Our Website & Mobile Apps Specialist will be an integral part of the Technology Team, maintaining and developing our website to keep pace with the BHS digital transformation.

The British Horse Society delivers a range of equestrian charitable objectives, along with providing membership offerings and educational programmes to the wider equestrian community.

 

The Technology Team supports our charitable work and income streams by providing solutions and services that fit the needs and requirements of our organisation and ensuring those solutions are comprehensive and effectively supported.

 

We have recently refreshed our website using Umbraco and are looking for a Specialist to join the team to develop our journey. You will work closely with our Marketing and Communications Teams to provide technical expertise to enhance and extend our website.

 

You will report to the Head of Technology Solutions Delivery and work alongside other Applications Specialists and external suppliers.

 

The successful candidate will join an experienced Technology Team that is friendly, supportive, and dedicated and promotes training and development.

Candidate Requirements:

Key skills needed for this exciting role:

• Knowledge of Umbraco, MS SQL, C# ASP.NET MVC and MS Azure (to implement website functions)
• Experience with web development technologies, tools, and languages, such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS andHTML, JavaScript, CSS
• Experience developing mobile applications for both android and iOS devices.
• Significant experience managing the technical aspects of a website and mobile applications
• Has demonstrably worked cooperatively with a Marketing/Communications function
• Has deployed and managed web analytics tools to support Marketing/Communications activity
• Knowledge of good practice for website and mobile application development
• Has created and maintained secure integrations/interfaces between websites and internal solutions (within an M365 environment)
• Has combined waterfall and agile/iterative/incremental approaches within delivery
