How to Install Umbraco 8 Using Nuget

Hey Everyone, This is a Step by Step tutorial of how to install Umbraco 8 using NuGet. I will try to break it down as easily as i can for anyone new to Umbraco.

This works best if you install on a blank C# Web Application Visual Studio Project

Step 1. Open Visual Studio (2017 or above) it will not work on any versions before 2017.

Step 2. Go to "File" then "New Project" and choose ASP .NET Web Application (.NET Framework), Make sure you Choose (Framework 4.7.2) this is important.

Step 3. Select a (Empty) Project and uncheck any check-boxes before continuing.

Step 4. Right click on your new project in the Solution Explorer and then Click "Manage Nuget Packages".

Step 5. Now you will need to type " Install-Package UmbracoCms " into the Package Manager Console right after where it says "PM>".

Step 6. After step 5 is complete Click Build in the top menu and click Build Solution (CTRL + SHIFT + B)Does the same thing).

Step 7. Once Your solution is built you can click Play/IIS Express to run your application (Select run without debugging when prompted).

Step 8. Now you will need to fill in your Name, Email and password to sign up to Umbraco. (if you have never Registered with Umbraco before. You will need to go to your email account you registered with and verify your email address).

Step 9. Go back to visual studio stop your application and then click Play/IIS Express again, Then sign in with your email and password.

Step 10. If you followed every step correctly you will now be in the back end or your Umbraco Website/Web Application.
